Welcome to my Seventeenth blog!🙂
We all have one, two, three, twenty or countless. Or we would like to have one or many. We like their company…we like it when we laugh together or even share sorrows together.
They might know us for who we are. Our struggles, our successes, practically everything about us is not a secret to them. We like them sometimes. We don’t like them other times.
This person or people is called a ‘Friend’. Your best friend. Your B.F.F…..Any title you give a friend will do. But one thing about a friend is that they know you better than anyone else.
They ought to know your likes and dislikes so that they can relate better with you. Vice versa is also true, you should know what they like and don’t like. This will help you relate better with them.
This will strengthen the friendship. As both parties understand each other very well. Hence they all know how to relate with each other.
Does then a friendship happen overnight? Yes… you can meet someone who you ‘click’ within minutes. But I don’t think you can end up saying you are now BFF’s. Hey…. These are just my thoughts. I have a penny for them..
Anyway. Your conversations might be great. But can you honestly say that you are now best friends?
According to the internet dictionary…a friend is a person with whom one has a mutual bond of affection.
My thoughts… a bond takes a long time to create because it means you have to know each other really well. Hence I think a good friendship would take time to be a good friendship.
John 15:15… Servants don’t know what their master is doing, and so I don’t speak to you as my servants. I speak to you as my friends, and I have told you everything my father has told me.
Jesus is our friend. A friend by this blog’s definition is someone who you like and you know them very well.
As Jesus says in the Bible he has told us everything about Himself that we need to know. About who He is and why He was sent here. He also told us everything about God. What we needed to know.
On the other hand, God and Jesus know everything about us. God created us and thus there is nothing he doesn’t know about us.
The question then is, do you want to become friends with God?
The answer is, read the Bible. And you will get to know God. You will know who he is through reading the Bible. And through Jesus Christ, both of you can form a great bond and become Bff’s.
